Survival Hike/Canoe
This program is not for the faint of heart! Survival Hike and Survival Canoe campers will begin their time at camp reviewing and practicing necessary skills for survival in the wilderness. From SonRise the campers will venture out on one of two tracks, hiking or canoeing, for a three-day, two-night adventure. Campers will utilize their learned skills and return to SonRise for Friday evening activities. Min 4/Max 20
Owl Camp
Owl campers will experience all the fun of Youth Camp, only overnight! In addition to normal activities, campers will also have the opportunity to experience night hikes, stargazing, and outdoor cooking. Youth will have a graduated schedule that will allow them to sleep during the day and stay up overnight. Owl campers will be housed in cabins. Min 15/Max 35
Equestrian Experience
This exciting opportunity is perfect for the camper who wants to learn more about horses. Circle B Ranch will provide professional lessons Monday – Thursday for each camper. Daily time at the ranch will include instruction and riding time regardless of weather, as the ranch has both indoor and outdoor riding arenas. Visit the ranch web site at www.circlebranch.net. Art Camp
In addition to all the great Youth Camp activities, this program is designed to give individuals interested in the visual arts an opportunity to explore styles and mediums including paint, clay, and charcoal. Each day will include brief instruction and plenty of working time. No prior experience is necessary. Min 3/Max 20
Deaf/Hearing Camp
In partnership with Mill Neck Foundation for Deaf Ministry, SonRise is excited to offer a week of Deaf/Hearing Camp facilitating the communication between communities through activities and sign. Hearing and deaf youth are invited to grow in Christ together through drama, crafts, service opportunities, and outdoor exploration. Interpreters will be on hand and instruction in sign will take place throughout the experience for hearing youth. This is an opportunity open to all youth and can’t be missed!
Fine Arts Camp
Campers dedicated to the study of dance, drama, vocal and instrumental music, or the visual arts are invited to join other youth with the same passion to study and learn from talented instructors and enthusiastic peers. Campers will spend intensive sessions studying their chosen art and still enjoy time outdoors experiencing the wonder of God’s creation. Campers joining for dance or musical instruments should have at least one year of lessons prior to attending. Min 15/Max 55
Sail/Kayak/Canoe
This camp is perfect for the camper who loves to spend extra time on the water. In addition to all the great youth camp activities, each day will include 2 hours of special instruction and time in the boats. No previous experience is necessary. Min 3/Max 10
